Here’s what’s coming up at Henning Public School! Stay tuned for important dates and events as we wrap up Quarter 1 and head into November.

🎃 Halloween Costume Parade! 🎃
Our elementary students can’t wait to show off their costumes! Come watch the Costume Parade on October 31st at 1:45 p.m. as grades K–5 make their way through town. We hope to see you there!

Halloween is almost here, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s fun and creative costumes!
Please remember — costumes should be school-appropriate and safe for learning and play.

The fifth graders are getting into the Halloween spirit with their spooky symmetry projects! We love seeing their creativity and hard work!

The OTC Bulldogs are hitting the field tomorrow afternoon to take on the Breckenridge Cowboys! Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 25 in Breckenridge.

Let’s pack the stands and cheer loud — go Bulldogs!

Penny Wars are here!

Get ready for some competition, because Penny Wars start Monday morning! Each grade will compete to see who can earn the most points by bringing in your spare change and dollars for a bonus! All of our amazing donations will be gifted to Henning HOPE to help buy presents for the holidays!

Here’s how it works:
- There are two bins - a Positive Bin and a Negative Bin.
- Put money in your grade’s Positive Bin to help your team.
- Put money in another grade’s Negative Bin to bring their score down!
The grade with the highest total by Friday morning wins!

We also have special goals to reach so stop by the table by the cafeteria each morning to check them out and see our progress!

Then on Friday after lunch, we’ll celebrate any goals we’ve met with a Pep Fest!
Plus, we’ll be hosting a 6th - 12th grade Halloween Costume Contest during the pep fest! If you’re unsure about your costume, check with Mr. Williams beforehand.

So gather your spare change and let’s make this week one to remember. Penny Wars begin Monday morning!

It’s go time for the OTC Cross Country team! They’re hitting the course tonight (Thursday, October 23) in Minnewaska for the Section 6A Meet starting at 4:00 PM. Good luck, Bulldogs!

The Henning Hornets earned the #5 seed in the Section 6A bracket and will host Lake Park-Audubon tonight (Wednesday, October 22) at 7:00 PM in Henning! Let’s pack the gym and get loud— Go Hornets!

Harvest season is here — and so is a chance to give back! 🌾
Donate bushels or dollars from your sale at the Henning Elevator to support our Henning FFA students!

Soaring success! 🚀 During our after-school STEAM event in the Library, students engineered paper airplane launch towers and put them to the test. LeAnn Chase took first place with an impressive 20' 7" launch using a rubber band and paperclip design!

PINK OUT NIGHT!

Join us Friday, October 10 at 7 PM at Battle Lake School as the OTC Bulldogs take on the Menahga Braves — and show your support in the fight against breast cancer!

Here’s how you can get involved:

- Wear pink to show your support
- Free will donations and split the pot will benefit the Lake Region Cancer Center in Fergus Falls
- Pink bracelets for all at the gate

Let’s pack the stands in pink for a great cause!

Targeted Services will begin on Tuesday, October 21 for students in grades K-6. Programming will run Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:15-5:15 PM. If you want your child(ren) to participate, complete the registration form and return to the school ASAP. Registration forms were sent home on Tuesday, October 7.

October 6th is National Coaches Day! Today we celebrate the incredible coaches at Henning Public School who inspire, teach, and motivate our student-athletes—both on and off the field. Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and Hornet/Bulldog pride!
