Henning School District

Help support Beck Thorson's National Honor Society project by donating travel-size self-care items, such as lotion, bars of soap, nail polish, clippers, and files, in new condition. Donations can be dropped off at Henning High School's main doors or Water’s Edge Church by May 5th. Scan the QR code to give online. Every little bit helps bring comfort and care to others!

This project supports the August 2026 Mission Trip to Uganda, where members of Water’s Edge Church will serve and share these donated items.

Henning Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students welcomed 2026 East Ottertail County Dairy Princess Ambassador Ella Horn to the library on Monday! Ella shared fun and informative lessons about dairy products, how milk is harvested and transported, and what life on a dairy farm looks like. Students asked great questions, practiced their best “moos” during Moo Yoga, and returned to their classrooms wearing cow hats and carrying goody bags.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the East Ottertail County Fair, happening July 23-26 this year in Perham, Minnesota! The fair offers plenty of 4-H animal exhibits and shows, project displays, a carnival, and informative booths for the whole family to enjoy.

The second graders took advantage of a quiet moment in the building to practice their reader’s theater in the lobby while the upper grades completed their MCA tests. The space came alive with Billy goats, tortoises, hares, a wolf—and even Little Red Riding Hood!

Join us for the 4th Annual Wheels, Tracks & Wings event on April 25 at the Elbow Lake Airport (11 AM–2 PM)! Hosted by the Ashby American Legion Auxiliary, this FREE, family-friendly event celebrates the Month of the Military Child and honors military families.

Enjoy JROTC drills, “touch a truck,” Young Eagle Flights (ages 8–17), bounce house, pedal cars, classic cars, food, and more! Plus—great door prizes including a drone and an airplane ride!
