Henning Public School is considering extending our FREE breakfast and lunch program from Tuesday, May 26th to Wednesday, July 1st. Meals would need to be curbside pick-up 3-days a week at the school.
The state of Minnesota has not come to a final decision about summer recreation programs, the school is not sure if our usual Summer Recreation programs will resume this June, or if those programs will be delayed for a week or more. Regardless of this outcome, we would like to measure the interest in continuing our free breakfast and lunch program to members of the community that are 18 years of age or under.
This summer meal program would begin on Tuesday, May 26th, and go until Wednesday, July 1st. Because meals would no longer be delivered to your home, meals would need to be picked up at the Henning Public School. The pick-up window would be 1 hour in length and would occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, except for the first week, where the pick-up days would be Tuesday, May 26th, and Thursday, May 28th.

Week 5 and 6 Distance Learning Schedule. Friday, May 1st, and Monday, May 4th, there will be NO distance learning. These are teacher planning days to prepare for the final push of distance learning.

Trevor is an 11 year old 5th grader in Henning, MN he made a goal to donate an item a day (30 or 31 items a month) to the local food shelf in Henning. He started January 1, 2020 and to date has donated 239 lbs of food, had a Facebook birthday fundraiser for the food shelf and raised $461. He also has a local business (Our Home Your Home) matching his food donations every month. He wants to do this for the whole year. He works to earn money and he decides what to get, helps with purchasing the items and delivers them to the food shelf each month. He is an outstanding, caring boy with a BIG heart for others!!
