Effective Immediately -The federal regulation requiring all students and staff to wear a mask on school buses and school vehicles has COME TO AN END. The only mask requirement that remains is associated with an individual returning to school after being a close contact to a positive Covid case in the home or for someone that personally had a positive Covid case.
The Henning School is excited to share that Mrs. Jorgenson, one of our 2nd grade teachers, has written and published two children's books. She is currently working on writing a third book with the students in her classroom. The students are learning about the writing process and how to create and solve problems in literature. We can't wait to see what they come up with!

C🏀NGRATULATIONS to Dawson Bushman and Easton Misegades for their outstanding performance at the State Hoop Shoot Contest held this past weekend in Hutchinson, MN. Dawson finished in 2nd place in the age 12-13 group and Easton finished in 1st Place in the age 10-11 group. Easton will move on to the multi-state Regional Hoop Shoot in Iowa - G🏀🏀D LUCK EAST🏀N!!!
Mrs. Wohlwend’s fourth grade reading classes wrote and illustrated their very own “How To” books and completed a Book Walk to provide feedback and learn something from their peers’ books.

Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Please thank our drivers when you see them. They really go the extra mile for our students and families making sure that everyone gets to and from school safely.
This week is Minnesota School Board Recognition Week! Henning students, staff, and families benefit every day from the leadership and vision of our school board members. Please thank our dedicated school board members this week.
The Henning School and buses will be two (2) hours late tomorrow (Wednesday, February 23). School will start at 10:10 and breakfast will not be served.
The Henning School will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, February 22) due to poor weather.
The Henning School will be CLOSED on Monday, February 21 in honor of Presidents' Day!
The Henning School performed a Lockdown Drill today that had students talking about scenarios and they practiced barricading classroom doors. We continue to work on school safety protocols to prepare our students for the "unthinkable." Please talk to your children and ask them questions about the drill - some students get emotional even when we clearly communicate we are practicing.
The Henning School will be dismissing students at 1:00 today (Friday, February 18) due to the poor weather. ALL Activities (High School & Elementary) are canceled for this evening.
5th grade held their 4th annual Valentine’s Box Competition this week. A big shoutout to our celebrity judges Mrs. Cichy, Mrs. Sparks, and Mr. Williams, thanks for helping make this years competition a success! A lot of great boxes this year, congratulations to all the 5th graders on their hard work. Pictured are some of this years 5th grade winners.
