Hi Third Graders!

Welcome to Mrs. Mills' Class! I am so happy to have you in my class! This year is going to be filled with laughter, excitement, and loads of learning. We will focus on having a growth mindset while we achieve greatness!

I cannot believe this is my 15th year in education. I graduated from the University of Minnesota - Duluth with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2017 I graduated from the University of Portland - Concordia with a masters in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Teacher Leadership. A unique fact about me, is that UMD provided the opportunity for me to complete my student teaching in another country. With a love for The Lord of the Rings movies, I immediately chose New Zealand! I loved my time there and met so many new friends. Given that experience, after returning I had a desire to see another part of the country to start my teaching career.

Initially, I took a position in Arizona as a 1st grade teacher with the intent to return after two or three years of experience. However, my time in Arizona grew into having a passion for teaching students in a diverse, low soci-economic area. I was fortunate there to gain friends and colleagues that I now call my second family, so I stayed for ten years!

While in Arizona, I met my husband, David, and since then we have had two beautiful children, Nora (8), and Jack (5). In 2018 we returned to my home in Ottertail County and are so thankful to have joined the Henning family!
