Welcome to the Gifted, Creative, and Talented Program! My name is Grace Ellefson, your coordinator. This will be my 8th year at Henning. I am passionate when it comes to providing an equitable and rigorous program for your student/s. Henning opportunities include but are not limited to: Young Authors Conference, Spelling Bee ( grades 5-8), Science Fair (grades 4-6 required, grades 7-8 optional), Math Masters (grades 5 & 6) and special guests (scientists, artists, actors etc).

I am a retired Gifted Education Specialist from Osseo Public Schools, servicing students there for 15 years. For 18 years prior, I was an administrative domestic engineer raising our three sons with my husband Paul. David is married to Sarah with their son Ben who live in Eden Prairie, Mark lives in Thailand and Stephan lives in Plymouth. Before raising a family, I taught 5 years in the Anoka Hennepin District.

During those 18 years, I was active in music. My activities included private flute instructor (and currently doing this), flute soloist in the metro area, member of “Jubilate Duo” (flute and harp duo), directed 2 handbell choirs, and a flute choir.

After returning to education, I earned a Masters of Education Degree from Hamline University including a Gifted Education Certificate and a Technology Certificate.

We have a home in Plymouth and a lake house on Middle Leaf Lake. Outside of school, I enjoy fishing, music, traveling, cooking, baking, and sewing.

I look forward to working with your child this year and continue to be a part of the awesome Henning community.
