A message from the Henning HS Activities Department:
COVID-19 has significantly impacted our extra curricular activities for the 2020-21 school year. Many of these situations are fluid and ever-changing. We will do our best to update families as we obtain additional information.
The fall volleyball and football competitive seasons have been moved to spring. Those activities are allowed 12 practice sessions during the fall, but no games. Coaches will be in contact with athletes and parents as those practice sessions are scheduled.
The girls and boys cross country seasons are in full swing, with extra precautions in place.
I am entering my 22nd year teaching in the district and hometown where I grew up. I graduated from Henning High School in 1995. I have since been fortunate to obtain an AA degree from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN, a BA degree from Moorhead State University, and a Master's Degree in Education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
My role as Activities Director allows me to see our students flourish in a number of extra-curriculars including fine arts and athletics. Even though we are a small district, Henning offers many activities that fit a variety of interests.
As an educator and coach, my goal is to help young people reach their potential and to understand the importance of hard work and resiliency through tough times while at the same time showing a genuine love and selfless attitude for others that will serve them well beyond the walls of Henning High School.
